CHEERS welcomes visitors with vibrant colors that echo the spirit of Daniel high school's sports legacy. We celebrate basketball triumphs to cheerleading excellence, while showcasing the often-overlooked sports contributions like volleyball, track, and wrestling.

The basketball wall, a graphic collage highlights the legacy of players who overcame challenges to dominate the region. Basketballs symbolize the achievements of 1,000-point scorers, while moments from the Lion’s early struggles to eventual success are detailed. Icons like: Alvin Benson, Frances Dawson, and DeAndre Hopkins are celebrated, along with state championship teams and standout players like Justin Dotson.

Featured Stories 

The Addison siblings—Donna, Clarence, Maudre', and Kristye—left a mark at D.W. Daniel High School. Donna, a cheerleader and musical theater performer, attended Alvin Ailey and became a professional dancer and instructor. Clarence, a basketball player and musical performer, is a dentist and sings in a band. Maudre excelled in academics and leadership and is now an HR manager at Johnson C. Smith University. Kristye, active in cheer, track, and choir, is a professional artist and former NFL cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons. Their accomplishments, spanning arts, athletics, and academics, continue to shine beyond high school.
